On a Budget?

Check out these free and low-cost resources if one-on-one personal training isn’t in your budget right now.

  • There are a ton of free workout videos on YouTube. While these won’t be customized to you, they can help you get started! Try searching for “beginner” workouts if you are starting or starting up again and “body weight” workouts if you don’t have any equipment at home. Be sure to warm up if the video doesn’t include a warm up!

  • Local community centers and YMCAs often offer sliding scale memberships that can be cheaper than other gyms. Many also offer group exercise classes and personal training at the gym for a reduced rate.

  • Spending time playing a sport can be a great way to get some exercise. Many sports can be played in free spaces in the community with cheap equipment. Try finding a used sporting equipment store. Be sure to warm up and stretch after playing!
