a desk-working Millennial moving to stay healthy

Move. Dance. Throw

As a trained dancer early in life, I’ve always had a passion for movement. I played various team sports in my youth, and even competed in ballroom dancing as a college student. However, as I got older and started working full-time, these activities fell off. Eventually, the stress of sitting at a desk all day with little movement led to several health problems for me - anxiety, low back pain, shoulder issues.

This motivated me to figure out how to integrate more movement into my life and counteract the effects of working at a desk full-time. Now in my late 30s, I’ve found that setting small goals, making my routine fun, and having a partner in crime helps ensure I stay active.  And I want to help others do the same!

Beyond the cardio, weightlifting and yoga I regularly hit the gym for, I like to mix up my activities with a hike around the greater Seattle area and a dance class or two. And on the weekends I can even be found at a local disc golf course throwing some frisbees.

Before becoming a certified personal trainer, I spent years as an education and career coach. I learned various methods for helping adults make changes in their life and set achievable goals. As someone who has been through the ups and downs of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, I am excited to help you on your journey to personal fitness!
